The core of our activities revolves around our sophisticated cleaning and packing factory where raw agricultural products are upgraded to stringent quality requirements for the local as well as export market.

The company essentially consists of three arms, namely, the marketing department and the trading department and operations. 

Marketing and Sales

The sales and marketing department is responsible for the sales and marketing of our packed products. Our packed products come in various sizes and brands. Umgeni is uniquely positioned in that our product offering is varied and delivery is usually within 72 hours of the order being received. We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and our service levels.

Trading

The trading department is primarily responsible for the procurement of raw materials for the operations. These products, in turn, are then marketed by the marketing department. Other activities of the trading department include the purchase and sale of goods to third parties. Umgeni Products is also a supplier to various food aid organisations.

Operations

The operations department is the heart of the organisation. It encompasses an ultra modern factory which is capable of processing and packing in excess of five thousand (5000) tons of product a month. The products to be processed is sourced by the trading department.

The business units at Umgeni Products are supported by a management committee consisting of:
